Yorkshire Sculpture International 2019 and continuing success

Being at the geographic heart of the Yorkshire Sculpture triangle, it was only fitting that Amity Art took part in the Leeds/Wakefield Artswalk organised in conjunction with Yorkshire Sculpture International 2019, on 3rd August. The Open Studio event drew in a number of people who were keen to view the work on show and to talk about both our work and their own where relevant. One later wrote on her own instagram page that she had been inspired by the work she had seen around the cottage.

More and more paintings have been completed, some of them  commissioned pieces. Jan began a new series of works based on her recent angiogram experience in hospital. These are an interesting departure and far more abstract in style than much of her previous work. The first one if this series was purchased the day after completion - it never even reached the website. The buyer wrote this after receiving the painting "Jan Sargeant, it's fabulous. You're an amazing artist.....". Another person wrote "Wow, wow, wow, wow! I love it!" after receiving a piece commisssioned from the 'Notions of movement' series. It is absolutely wornderful to know that those who pay money for our work are not disappointed and in fact, are delighted.

We move on in to the next few months with three commissioned pieces for Ted and some more plans for future developments. Watch this space!
