Quite a lot of exciting news from Amity Art since Covid stopped play for a while. First, the art workshops are back and already attracting new bookings. These are still tailored to suit individuals in terms of dates, so please get in touch.
Secondly, we are proud to be associated with a new brand new website - Parkinson's Art - Centre of creativity (www.Parkinsonsart.co.uk). established to celebrate and promote art and poetry by people with some connection to Parkinson's. We are actively supporting this very important initiative by Trevor Woolard. There is a poetry competition already, and Jan was asked to be one of the two judges. An art competition is planned for October, and Ted will be actively involved in that.
The work with John Radcliffe hospital Parkinson's patients is continuing and a video has been produced showing Jan and Ted leading one of their workshops for the Picturing Parkinson's project.
And to continue our very strong links with and support for Parkinson's UK, a new anthology of poetry has been co-written and co-edited by Jan - Jigsaw. All profits will go to fund research into this incurable and disabling condition. Available soon from Amazon.
